Title: Youth and Young Adults Discipleship Pastor
Purpose: To lead and shepherd the youth and young adult ministries, guiding them in their spiritual growth, and equipping them to become committed disciples of Jesus Christ.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discipleship and Teaching:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for youth and young adults.
- Teach and mentor youth and young adults in the Scriptures, guiding them in their walk with Christ.
- Organize and lead Bible studies, small groups, and other discipleship programs.
- Leadership Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer leaders to assist in the ministry.
- Equip young people to take on leadership roles within the church.
- Event Planning and Execution:
- Plan and oversee events, retreats, and mission trips that promote spiritual growth and community.
- Coordinate outreach activities to engage with the local community and reach unchurched youth and young adults.
- Pastoral Care:
- Provide pastoral care, counseling, and support to youth, young adults, and their families.
- Be available to meet with students and parents as needed.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other church staff and ministry leaders to align youth and young adult ministry with the overall mission and vision of the church.
- Participate in staff meetings, church events, and contribute to the broader life of the church.
Qualifications:
- A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Passion for youth and young adult ministry, with experience in teaching, mentoring, and leadership.
- Strong communication, organizational, and relational skills.
- Ability to connect with and relate to young people, understanding their unique challenges and needs.
- A degree in theology, ministry, or a related field is preferred, but not required. If no degree, be willing with educational assistance to pursue seminary training.
- Agree and sign the VCF statement of Faith
Accountability: The Youth and Young Adults Discipleship Pastor reports to the Senior Pastor and works in collaboration with the church leadership team.
