Pastor of Worship

Summary:  The Pastor of Worship is responsible for shepherding believers toward a deeper love for Jesus through inspiring corporate worship and disciple-making.

Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week

Salary Estimate:  Commensurate with experience

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Responsibilities:

Work alongside the other pastors and elders to “Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly” (I Peter 5:2).

Develop and oversee the planning and execution of all worship services, including Sunday mornings, special events, and outreach opportunities throughout the week

Collaborate with the Senior Pastor, preaching pastor, and technical director to ensure a cohesive and impactful worship experience.

Disciple and develop volunteer musicians, vocalists, and worship team members, providing opportunities for growth and leadership.

Will occasionally preach on Sunday mornings, teach adult classes, and disciple believers in various ways.

Support and encourage the staff team of GI Free by participating in staff meetings, helping other staff members with their ministries as needed

Other ministry duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 A degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, Worship Ministry, Church Music, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Licensed or ordained by the Evangelical Free Church of America or another highly regarded Evangelical Denomination, or willing to become licensed or ordained by the EFCA within a mutually agreeable time.

Meets the Biblical qualifications for an Elder as set forth in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Committed to the Mission, Values, and Ministry Strategy of GI Free.

Able to work well with others.

Experience leading corporate worship on Sunday morning.

Proficient musical skills.  Capable of leading other musicians.

Experience in planning and leading worship services.

Willing to support the constitution, by-laws and doctrinal statement of GI Free.

Spiritual and Personal Qualifications:

Has an ongoing, growing and vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Strives to live a Christ-centered life marked by integrity, compassion, and a commitment to spiritual growth.

Exemplifies the values of GI Free both in public and private life

Participates fully in the life of GI Free.
