Job Description:

New Hope Community Church is seeking a Pastor of Discipelship and Connection.   This pastor will help the people of New Hope take the next steps in their relationship with Jesus. We seek an individual with experience developing people and programs to help individuals connect to New Hope and grow in their faith. It will include oversight of our small group ministry, men's and women's ministries, and several other programs. The most important qualification for this position is a deep love for Jesus and for seeing others grow in their love for Him.

New Hope has an average Sunday morning attendance of about 600.  We have a great reputation for involvement in our community, evangelism, solid teaching, and an effective small-group program. We are excited to see how God will use new leadership to take our existing discipleship and connection program into the future.  New Hope is a theologically conservative church, but we attract many people from diverse backgrounds, from unchurched to Pentecostal and Liturgical.

The city of Hermiston is the largest city with the largest school district in Eastern Oregon.  It has a population of over 18,000 and is surrounded by several smaller communities.  It lies 3 hours directly east of Portland, OR, and 35 minutes south of the Tri-Cities, WA.  The Hermiston area is a steppe desert near the Columbia River and the Blue Mountains.  It is primarily an agricultural area but hosts many industries, including Amazon facilities and a Walmart distribution center.  Hermiston is a fast-growing and thriving community full of transplants who have moved here to fill the growing need for skilled and unskilled labor.
