The Big Picture

CityLights Church is seeking a Worship Director who will lead the church body in corporate worship, as well as provide leadership of the worship team / band, tech, and hospitality teams. We are seeking someone who will disciple volunteers; revealing, equipping, and releasing leaders within these teams for ministry.

The Candidate

The Worship Director will provide leadership and direction in the areas noted above in consultation with the lead pastor, including:

• Develop and schedule volunteer teams of instrumentalists and vocalists, techs, and hospitality positions.
• Organize and lead music practices, routine services, and special services or events of other ministries.
• Provide technical support in sound, media and lighting as needed.
• Manage and maintain instruments, computers, sound, video, and other stage gear.
• Prepare and input media for services (along with worship admin).
• Develop and manage the worship and hospitality budget.
• Maintain regular office hours in cooperation with other staff and volunteers.
• Will assist as requested in other ministries of the church (teaching, counseling, visitation, etc.).

Worship Director’s Training and Experience

Verifiable applied experience and on-the-job training in all aspects of the role.

The Worship Director must:

• Have deep spiritual and moral convictions with a demonstrated personal and family testimony of grace and integrity.
• Wholeheartedly agree with CityLights’ Statement of Faith and join CityLights Church, maintaining an active membership commitment. Check our website for the Statement of Faith.
• Possess an ability to lead, organize, and supervise seasoned as well as less experienced team members.
• Be proficient in software resources such as Planning Center, ProPresenter, Ableton, Multitrack, Chart Builder, WORD, PUBLISHER, Spotify, and Facebook.

Be a collaborative teammate who contributes to overall vision, goals, and ministries of the church.

• Be a self-starter and extremely disciplined in timeliness and preparation.
• Demonstrate a proficiency on guitar or keyboard, while simultaneously maintaining connection with the congregation and the band.
