We are a thriving and blessed church family serving the Lake Norman area. God has provided us with a new building and fantastic kids area, but we are losing our children's director soon.
This is a part-time job with strong likelihood of becoming full time. We are looking for someone to serve 25 hours a week. Competitive compensation given commensurate with applicant's education and experience. We also could license the right candidate, thus qualifying them to take some of their wages as a non-taxable housing allowance.
Applicants must have children's ministry experience and a specific passion for raising up the next generation of believers. Candidates that know how to schedule volunteers via Planning Center software will be given strong preference. Obviously all applicants must pass a rigorous background check.
Job description:
Research, prepare and provide current Bible lesson to K-5th grade and Pre-K volunteers
Schedule all volunteers weekly, nursery to 5th Grade, four weeks in advance and send out requests to serve
Schedule childcare workers for events and service when needed
Regularly identify, recruit and train volunteers, and ensure background checks are submitted and current
Supervise an assistant hired by Newsong to provide help to Newsong Kids Director
Attend Staff Meetings twice a month, and meet with supervisor twice a month.
Serve personally in the Sunday classes two times per month
Make sure that families are welcomed and greeted on Sunday mornings
Assist families with Check-In system
Manage ministry budget
Purchase supplies including arts/crafts, paper, Bibles, Nursery supplies, snack and juice
Coordinate outreach opportunities by planning community children's activities twice per year
Communicate pertinent ministry information to parents and families as needed
Be able to provide ideas that promote the betterment of the program
Responsible for keeping shared office space, reception area, classrooms, and storage areas clean and organized on a weekly basis.
Participation in leadership meetings is essential. Participation in the life of the church is also required. This includes, but are not limited to life groups, and occasional “all church” events such as community outreaches, fasts, campaigns in which the entire church participates in a particular study or spiritual growth event, and social events.
