Student Pastor Job description

(Full time, salaried position)

Salary commensurate with education and experience

 

General Job description:

The student pastor will:

  • Oversee the spiritual and general activity of the student ministry of Christ Community Church.
  • Be the main communicator and provide spiritual guidance for 7-12 grade students.
  • Teach students to worship God and help lead them to a life in the Spirit.
  • Introduce and challenge students to grow to a new level in the Lord.
  • Create and implement discipleship methods for teaching and developing a relationship with God.
  • Provide a creative and exciting atmosphere that has excellent worship and relevant preaching of the Word that is fun and engaging.
  • Partner with parents to make sure that there is strong communication for reinforcement of what is being preached.
  • Always connect and align with the vision of the church and Pastor, creating continuity and consistency.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a Student Pastor.
  • 4-year degree preferred.
  • Assembly of God credentials preferred.

  • Must have a spirit filled background.

  • Is adept in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must have creative ability sufficient to reach today’s teenage student population.
  • Must have exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
  • Has proven ability to recruit and build teams, including the development of adult and youth lay-leaders. 
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to mix well with people of all ages.
  • Passes state and federal fingerprint clearance and background checks. 
  • Must be a mature and growing Christian leader with good moral character and integrity, as set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
