OUR ORGANIZATION

Cibolo Creek Community Church is a place where we demonstrate the love of Christ and provide an atmosphere where unchurched people feel welcome to explore and engage in a community focused on improving how we do life together.  We believe church is not a building, the services, or even the lessons - a church is people. Our real work is relationships. We help guide people into friendships with other people who may be asking the same questions, dealing with similar issues, or who are interested in shared experiences or discovering how our faith intersects with everyday life.

 

Weekly Attendance

  • Congregation: 600-700
  • Youth: 70-100

 

Affiliation

  • Nondenominational

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or its international equivalent

 

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in paid service to a faith-based organization

 

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum 1-year experience in a full-time paid pastoral role
  • Educational exposure to a Christian studies curriculum or formal seminary training

  

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Teaching

  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and teach the Bible to students in a compelling and relevant way
  • Connects real life problems and issues that teens face on a regular basis with biblical content

 

Training

  • Can recruit, train and empower a team of youth ministry volunteers and provide continuing leadership and support for them
  • Equip teams of teen and adult volunteers for community outreach and effectively reach unchurched teens in the immediate area
  • Able to cast a vision for reaching area students for Christ and inspire adults to get involved

 

Shepherding

  • Demonstrate a passion for pursuing Christ that drives a compassion for reaching students
  • Willingness to meet with committed volunteers and invest in them spiritually and relationally
  • Desire to attend offsite events, school functions, and connect with students outside of church events
  • Engage in one-on-one discipleship with individuals including ability to counsel youth

 

Administration

  • Develop and implement a structure for spiritual formation and one-on-one discipleship
  • Formulate and oversee strategies and implement structures necessary to facilitate an effective Student Ministry
  • Create and maintain effective Sunday morning curriculum and programing for both Middle School and High School students
  • Develop and implement a plan for equipping teenagers to effectively minister to peers
  • Can create the infrastructure necessary to lead and birth effective teen small groups  
  • Ability to plan and execute a budget and to stay within its parameters

  • Priority for student-oriented serving both locally and cross-culturally (i.e., Serving Sunday, Taking It to the Streets, Mission Trips, Meadowlands, Hill Country Daily Bread, etc.)

  • Big church/big growth mindset when developing relationships, investing time and resources into opportunities, and developing programming for students
  • Commitment to community, relationships, and meeting student where they are (i.e., sporting events, band concerts, performance for drama or UIL, etc.)

OUR COMMUNITY

Cibolo Creek Community Church is nestled in a charming Hill Country community only minutes north of San Antonio via Interstate 10.  Boerne (pronounced: Burr-nee) was settled by German immigrants over 150 years ago and retains its old-world character and small-town appeal despite experiencing significant growth.  2014 census data demonstrates a population of 12,835 with anticipated growth to over 14,000 by 2019.  With two high schools, three middle schools, and 7 elementary schools, the district is packed full of students eager to learn and grow.  Overflow (our student ministry) also draws students from the neighboring districts of San Antonio Northside and Comal ISDs.
