Bakersfield First is a multi-generational church whose mission is helping broken people become Spirit-filled followers of Jesus who help broken people. A unique quality that sets our church apart from many others is the history. We have generations of families that have been attending since it originated as Bakersfield's Full Gospel Tabernacle in the early 1920's and families who have been attending just a short time. Built on a foundation originated from small groups of Christians in various missions throughout the city, Bakersfield First Assembly still thrives as a loving congregation that helps believers grow in relationship with God. We have a history we honor, but our story is still being written in the lives of those who are broken and become Spirit-filled followers of Jesus. Each week we see our story expand and grow to include more families writing their own history at this church.
