About:
Emmanuel Church exists to see people come to Christ and grow in Christ. We focus on sharing the love of Jesus, presenting the truth of God’s Word to all who attend in the hope that they will open their heart up to Him, and guiding them to grow in their faith as followers of Jesus. All people matter to God, so all people matter to us. Emmanuel Church opened its doors in the living room of Pastor Jim Devney on Easter Sunday of 1977 with 17 people in attendance. It later moved to the Johnson County Sports Day Camp in Franklin, followed by a small church building on Stones Crossing. During Christmas of 1982, Emmanuel held its first services at the Greenwood Campus. After 29 years of leading Emmanuel to significant growth, Pastor Jim retired in 2006. Danny Anderson, then High School Pastor, transitioned to the role of senior pastor at this time. After several renovations and improvements were made to the Greenwood campus to accommodate increasing growth in attendance, the decision was made to go multi-site with the additions of the Banta Campus (2013) and the Franklin Campus (2015). As a multi-site church, Emmanuel is now one church in multiple locations. We have grown to over 4,300 weekend attendees at three campuses throughout the greater Indianapolis area. These are: the Banta Campus in Indianapolis, the Franklin Campus and the Greenwood Campus. Becoming a multi-site church makes it easier to accomplish the mission of Emmanuel. Through relevant and authentic teaching, Emmanuel Church continues to see people come to Christ and grow in Christ. We believe that lost people matter to God, and we are on a Relentless Pursuit of those in our lives who are far from him. As Emmanuel continues to grow and more and more hearts are transformed for the glory of God’s Kingdom, we continue to give all glory and praise to Him.
