Church location: Wauwatosa, Wisconsin is an urban suburb of Milwaukee that borders the city line.
Church Size: Attendance is approximately 500 people (children and adults) on a Sunday morning.
Mission: Our mission is to invite people to discover Jesus Christ and become His fully devoted followers who influence their relationships, neighborhoods, communities and the world.
Metaphor: We believe the church is both a hospital and a home. In Jesus’ response to the Pharisees in Luke 5:31-32 He says, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners to repentance.” And in Hebrews 3:6 the author describes the people of God as His house. Through these guiding metaphors, we uphold that the church is a place where broken people can belong.
Conviction: Everyone has something to give to God’s mission in the world. We are called to live as “sent people.” Jesus says in John 20:21, “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” Some of us might be sent to the other side of the world, but many of us are sent right to where we live. The challenge is for everyone to be equipped and empowered to make their kingdom contribution within the community where God has placed them.
